Why You'll Love Living In The Toronto Neighbourhood of Willowdale!

What do you think of when I say Willowdale??  About 18 different things pop up for me, Including a few of the properties I lived in Willowdale!    but the most prominent picture that comes to mind is the Yonge and Sheppard corridor. I'm Meegan Dennie, a real estate agent in Toronto Ontario Canada and in this video, I'm going to show you why you will love living here!

What I really love about WIllowdale is the community aspect.  There is a Business Improvement Area committee and they’ve done a really great job creating that sense of community, neighbourhood bonding, and giving residents & businesses a voice on local issues.

Mel Lastman Square holds local events and is a staple in the community.  There are lots of local Facebook groups, and there are community programs and outreach programs in the area for everyone, including newcomers.

In Willowdale there is an East and West, and they are separated by Yonge Street.  Technically the West side of Yonge and Sheppard is actually a part of the Lansing Neighbourhood.. But let’s keep things simple.

The hustle and bustle of the Willowdale neighbourhood, is highly sought after to live in and is extremely multicultural.

This neighbourhood had a surge of development that took place between the years of 2001 - 2016.  It continues to be developed but make no mistake, there are lots of housing options!

There is also a sea of authentic restaurants, jammed packed down Yonge Street starting at Sheppard all the way to Finch.  You can find just about any type of cuisine you’re craving!!

The transit is also really great in this area as it serves as a hub for Toronto subway Lines -  1 & 4.  It also has some great shopping and restaurants underground that can connect you to the transit but also if you are lucky, could even connect you right to your condo building- all underground!!

The 401  On and Off ramp is also right there and that makes it easier to get in and out of the city too… maybe just not during rush hour traffic though… haha

This area has the energy of downtown Toronto… you can feel it, see it, smell it and taste it.

It’s also a huge employment hub.  Some of the high-rises you see down the Yonge Street corridor are not just condo’s but head offices to major companies.

Although the condo hig- rises are what most people notice right away, there are lots of mature streets and beautiful homes just off of Yonge St from Bathurst to Bayview.

The average sale price for a home in this area is just over $2million at the present time.  Homes can range from $1.3 million all the way up to $4 or $5 million dollars.

Condo’s in the area can sell anywhere from approx. $500 thousand to $1.5 million, with the average price being just over $780 thousand.

This is a special area that is close to my heart and I never stray too far away.

Want to go even further North but still have Willowdale and transit at your finger tips??  The next community video is highlighting Vaughan. Im Meegan Dennie, please call me for all of your real estate related questions or needs for Toronto or the GTA :)
